CAN’s tremendous new food security initiative, the Good Food Program, brings fresh fruit and vegetables physically and financially within reach of Carlton’s public housing tenants. Low-cost and non-profit, this weekly market situated on the Housing Estate creates a vibrant, stronger community, enjoying particularly strong support from women and home-carers from the Horn of Africa.
This will be followed in 2008 with our Grow Local Campaign.
We seek volunteers interested in helping run the market stall. Or perhaps you can provide home-grown food?
Our annual Christmas Appeal further seeks your support in the form of:
• a direct financial donation
• non-perishable food for the Pantry
• vouchers for distribution to Carlton families in need; vouchers could be for food, clothing, footwear, household items, entertainment or school requisites
